Client Case Studies

Data Engines | ENSTOR works primarily with Australia's "top 1000" enterprises, and other organisations with demanding requirements who seek to achieve best practices in data storage, information protection and system availability. At last count our client base included 31 of the Australian "top 500" enterprises, of which 9 are "top 100" companies.

Below is a sampling of the projects that Data Engines | ENSTOR has completed for our clients. The list is by no means complete, but it will give you an idea of the types of solutions that we deliver and the services that we offer.

Additional client case histories are added to this section regularly, so please check back again soon. If you would like to know about Data Engines | ENSTOR's experience with a particular industry or application, just ask.

Leighton Holdings

Data Engines | ENSTOR were asked by Leighton Holdings to assist in the planning and eventual integration of a complex server/storage infrastructure for a contractor management system. Over 20TB of tier 1 and some 40TB of tier 2 storage was deployed and varying data protection service levels planned and deployed to a hosted recover environment. The solution involved technology such as EMC Symmetrix, EMC CLARiiON, EMC Connectrix, VMware ESX, Oracle 10g, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Symantec NetBackup.

State Street Australia

For over 4 years now, State Street have been referring aspects of their storage network maintenance and planning to Data Engines | ENSTOR. We have been instrumental in configuring Falconstor IPStor Enterprise snapshot and replication of key client and market databases, Virtual Tape Library and Single Instance Repository with IBM’s Tivoli Storage Manager. Underpinning this is a fully redundant, multi-vendor SAN and NAS environment comprising devices from F5/Acopia, EMC, Network Appliance and Sun Microsystems. Data Engines | ENSTOR were also involved in planning the data protection and replication schema for State Street’s new Virtual Desktop Infrastructure from Sun Microsystems and VMware.

ABN Amro

A combination of Hitachi Data Systems Thunder storage subsystems, Brocade SAN fabric switches, EMC Networker, and Sun/StorageTek tape systems make up the storage infrastructure at the ANZ data center of this famous Dutch merchant bank. Data Engines | ENSTOR have tackled several problems at the bank over previous years, including utilising a mixture of vendor supported snapshot technologies and customised in house scripting and integration to widen replication and backup windows for very large file serving applications.

New South Wales Department of the Public Trustee

For a period of over 2 years Data Engines | ENSTOR were tasked with reviewing, re-desiging and re-deploying key storage network infrastructure at this government client. They were migrating from a mixed DAS and SAN infrastructure to a larger fully redundant SAN Fabric with EMC Connectrix and CLARiiON technologies. Data Engines | ENSTOR were also tasked with defining key Service Level Maintenance procedures and designing a compliant Change Management workflow

This is to protect the confidentiality of our clients. However, most of our clients have agreed that we can discuss their projects in one-on-one situations, so please contact us if you would like more information about any of these examples.
